The Central Asia Data Workshop, organized by The International Centre for Water Resources and Global Change (ICWRGC), UNESCO Regional Office in Kazakhstan, and the German-Kazakh University, took place on October 17-18, 2023. Held as part of the GreenCentralAsia initiative, supported by the EU and the Government of Germany, the event brought together key stakeholders in water management.
The hybrid event has its focus on establishing a collaborative platform for sharing insights on National Water Observations and Forecasting Services. Key themes included the global significance of the water cycle, national monitoring capacities, and hands-on sessions covering soil moisture, water use, groundwater, surface water, and water quality. The event aimed to enhance regional cooperation and data management capacities for effective water resource management.
